Start a Conference

  1. There several options to start a video conference:

    • Click the New item (Menu and Search Bar) and select Conference

    • Click the Conferences icon in the Main menu and move to step 2

    • Click the Create Conferences option available from TeamChat context menu (see How to chat)

    • Right-click the Instant messaging contact and select Start Conferences from the context menu (see Instant messaging

  2. The Conferences screen presents two options: Meet now and Schedule a Meeting.

  3. When clicking the Meet now the organizer allows to enter a name for the conference with the possibility of password protection and enable recording. Click Start. (Move to step 5 for the ongoing conference view).

  4. When clicking the Schedule a meeting a dialog appears where users must input the relevant plan details. See Schedule a meeting.

    Tip: When scheduling a video conference call, it is possible to enable recording automatically and also setup a password-protected meeting, under Options. Password also allows to access the recording later. See History of Recordings .

  5. The IceWarpConference dialog appears.

  6. Within this screen, the following self- explanatory options are available.

    Chat section. Write a message to your colleagues

    Options section

    • Mute/Unmute

    • Start/Stop camera

    • Share your screen. You can select from tabs whether you allow to share the entire screen or separate application windows. Other participants will have this window shown in the central part of their meeting dialogs.

    • Raise/Lower your hand

    • Start recording

    • Leave session/Hang up

    Administration section

    • To copy conference link for sharing it with your colleagues, click Copy link

    • To hide avatars of the participants, click Show or hide thumbnails

    • To mute everyone, click More and select Mute everyone (only for a meeting moderator)

  7. Note: We recommend not to start online meetings or calls when connection is not secure. Google Chrome does not allow to use microphone over none secured session anymore and it is only matter of time when the other browsers do the same.

  8. The ongoing session appears in progress accordingly in Conferences view. Once finished, the conference will appear in the History tab.
